Light the Tree

The Genoa Tree — Hope's Colorado Blue Spruce — donated to the town, is strung with lights and waiting for the perfect time to be lit.

Christmas Caroling — Meet at the Genoa Community Church, 5:30 p.m.
Genoa Tree Lighting — Follow the carolers to the corner of Main Street and Genoa Lane to see the light at 6:30 p.m.
Santa's Visit — After the lights are lit, warm up with holiday revelers with holiday refreshments and a visit with "Jolly Old St. Nick".

Old Style Santa

Santa will be visiting with children and their families throughout the morning.

Be sure to bring your camera!

Breakfast will consist of fluffy pancakes with syrup, sausage, orange juice and coffee. Tickets are $5 per person, kids 4 and under are free. Breakfast with Santa will be held in the Town Hall located at 2289 Main Street. Deck The Halls A Christmas MadrigalSilver Bells

Christmas OrnamentsYou won’t want to miss this special holiday concert: Douglas High School Madrigal Singers and Jazz Ensemble will perform all your Christmas favorites. The concert will benefit the Douglas High Madrigal Singers and the Jazz Ensemble, who are rasing funds for new concert uniforms.

NOW THROUGH THURSDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2014:

"SHARE YOUR CHRISTMAS DRIVE-BY FOOD DRIVE" drop off at Genoa Volunteer Fire Department, Station 3

Genoa Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a food drop off point at the Genoa Fire Station through December 11.

On December 12, volunteers will transport all the food collected to the Channel 2 News "Share Your Christmas" Holiday Drive-By Food Drive drop off at the Carson Valley Inn. All proceeds donated in Genoa will benefit the Carson Valley Food Closet.

"TOYS FOR TOTS" toy drop off at Gillmor Coons RE Group

Gillmor Coons Real Estate Group at 2288 Main Street, Genoa, NV, will have a "Toys For Tots" collection point for NEW and UNWRAPPED toys (Toys will be handed out by community volunteers to local children in need. Visit the Toys For Tots website for details.)

This very popular show consists of original cowboy Christmas songs, traditional cowboy songs, as well as classic Christmas songs. Mary Kaye originals include “It All Began in a Barn,” “A Cowboy Christmas Tonight,” “Goin' Home for Christmas,” “The 12 Days of Cowboy Mary Kaye - imageChristmas,” “No Black-Haired Woman,” and “Come Gather Round the Angel Tree.” In addition, Mary Kaye will perform traditional holiday songs such as “Silent Night,” “White Christmas,” Oh Come Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Oh Come All Ye Faithful,” etc.


Bio: Mary Kaye is a native born Texan and as a young woman ventured off to Utah where she "married her a cowboy." She now resides on a century old pioneer homestead in central Utah and has been married to her husband Brad for 28 years, they have ten children. Mary Kaye's music is rooted deeply in the Western landscape her life is immersed in. She has received extensive critical acclaim and won multiple awards for her singing and songwriting.
